Your Wealth and Children Are a Test

Discover the Quranic perspective on wealth and children as trials from Allah. Learn how to prioritize obedience to Allah and use your blessings for good deeds.

Your Wealth and Children Are a Test

“Your wealth and children are but a trial for you. And with Allah is a great reward.”
(Surah At-Taghabun 64:15)

This verse reminds us that wealth and children are not just blessings but also a test from Allah. These tests challenge our priorities, obedience, and commitment to Allah’s commands.

[1] Those who encourage you to engage in unlawful earnings or hinder you from fulfilling your duties to Allah are part of this test. Success lies in rejecting such influences and remaining steadfast in Allah’s obedience. Wealth and children are tools through which Allah examines who is faithful and who deviates.

[2] A person who values Allah’s obedience over the love of wealth and children and refrains from disobedience will find true success.

A Reminder for Us All:

Today, you may be wealthy, but tomorrow everything could be taken away. Wealth is a gift from Allah, and He can withdraw it whenever He wills. Therefore, refrain from pride or arrogance about your possessions. Instead, use what you have to perform good deeds, assist those in need, and make a positive impact on others’ lives.

Remember, when you leave this world, your wealth will not accompany you. Only your good deeds will remain, and they will speak for you in the Hereafter.

“Your wealth and your children are only a test.”
(Al-Quran 64:15)

I extend my prayers to those across the globe who have lost their homes and been displaced. May Allah’s infinite mercy envelop you and bring ease to your trials.
